Your product title is the first thing a shopper sees, and it is also one of the main things search engines and marketplaces read. A clear, well-structured title can lift both visibility and clicks. A messy one can bury a good product.
Start with what the product is
Put the main product type near the front, in the words a customer would type into the search box. If someone is looking for a stainless steel water bottle, those words should appear early rather than after a long brand slogan.
Add the details buyers search for
After the product type, include the facts that help a buyer decide:
- Brand and model
- Size, capacity, or quantity
- Color and material
- Compatibility, if it matters (for example, device or model numbers)
Keep it readable
Do not stuff the title with repeated keywords or write it in all capital letters. Avoid promotional phrases such as sale or free shipping, because many marketplaces do not allow them and shoppers do not trust them. Always check the title length and style rules of the platform you sell on, since they differ.
A simple formula
Brand + Product Type + Key Feature + Size or Quantity + Color or Material
Weak title: Best Cheap Water Bottle Hot Sale Free Shipping
Better title: StreamLine Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle, 750 ml, Leak-Proof Lid, Matte Black
The better version tells the buyer exactly what they are getting and uses the words they are most likely to search for.
Test and improve
Once a listing has been live for a few weeks, look at its views and clicks. If people see it but do not click, try a clearer title or a stronger main image. Change one thing at a time so you know what made the difference.
